GSTR-9 for FY 2018-19 is optional for tax payers having turnover less than Rs 2 Cr. For rest it is mandatory. However GSTR 9-C is optional for tax payers having turnover from Rs 2 Cr to Rs 5 Cr. If turnover exceeds Rs 5 Cr it becomes mandatory.
