Many times the taxpayers while filing GSTR-3B face JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) validation error due to which they are not able to file their GSTR-3B. This can be frustrating for the tax payer specially in cases where he is filing such return at the eleventh hour.
It may also be noted here that apart from the JSON validation error, other JSON errors may also be faced by tax payers due to incorrect / wrong data entered in the offline tool. It may be noted here that in such cases the GST return preparation tool will generate JSON file and error will be depicted only after some time when you have uploaded the JSON file.
Why JSON validation error occurs:
Json validation error is depicted in the upload history of returns in GST portal wherein in the status “Error Occurred” is depicted.
Further against such error an error report will also be shown as ” Error in Json structure validation. If error persists qoute error number RT-SCVU101 when you contact customer care for quick resolution”
Now the question arises as to why such error occurs. In this regard it may be noted that as per GSTN such JSON validation error occurs when a taxpayer manually opens the JSON file generated by offline utility and edits the same. Now after learning why JSON validation error occurs, now it is time to solve such error and to successfully file our GSTR-3B returns.
How to solve the JSON validation error while filing GSTR-3B
The procedure to solve the JSON validation error while filing GSTR-3B can be learnt from the following official one minute video of GSTN.
